The emergence of the idea of National Seminar of Mathematics and Applied which abbreviated as SiManTap was initiated by the Mathematics students of USU Doctorate Program in 2010 by Mr. Syahril Efendi, who currently serves as the Governor of the IndoMS in Aceh-North Sumatra region, where the first SiManTap organizer is the Department Mathematics FMIPA USU. Since 2011, this activity is an annual IndoMS agenda. This SiManTap activity aims to make the forum for researchers, lecturers, teachers and students to exchange ideas, experiences, research and application in the field of mathematics and mathematics education. In its implementation, SiManTap is held alternately in the Provinces of Aceh and North Sumatra. The 9th SiManTap in 2018 will be held on November 28-29, 2018 at the Mathematics Eduvation Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara
